What we collect

When you submit an enquiry to us we may need to collect certain information in order to do a preliminary assessment of your requirements so that we can provide an initial quotation and determine suitability for a full site survey:-

• Post code and house number/name of your proposed installation site
• Your name
• Your email address
• Your telephone number
• Technical details of proposed installation site e.g. roof orientation/slope, condition of roof, last wiring inspection etc
• Whether installation site is listed building
• Whether installation site is in conservation area
• Whether installation site is domestic/commercial (optional)
• Whether installation site is occupied (optional)
• Other optional comments such as why you are interested in our products and how you heard about True Energy
• Photo of proposed installation area (optional)
• Your company name (if applicable)

What we do with the information we gather

We require the information to assess your requirements, provide an initial quotation and determine suitability for a full site survey. The information is used as follows:

• Internal record keeping. Your details are recorded in our internal computer systems so that we can assess, monitor and respond to your enquiry in a timely fashion.
• We will use your postal address, email address and/or telephone number to contact you in order to respond to your enquiry, notify you of progress/appointments or to obtain additional information we may require.
• We may use the information to improve our products and services.
• We may occasionally send promotional emails about new products/services, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which a website can place on your computer's hard drive in order to store information which can be used next time you access a website e.g. to personalise the website. We do not use cookies to store information on your computer.

• Email us using the link on the 'Contact Details' page of the website. Your email will be retained by us but you can choose the information to be contained in the email*
• Use the Contact form page of the website instead of the 'Calculator' page. Only your name, company name (optional) and email address will then be recorded*
• Contact us by telephone or email to ask that all your details are removed from our systems

* Note: in both these cases we will still need to acquire the information from you in order to assess your enquiry. This will need to be collected by a paper form which will be posted to you. The information provided on the paper form will still need to be recorded on our internal computer systems for the previously mentioned reasons.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties, unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please write to our address shown at the foot of each webpage.

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible at the same address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
